Manchester Day – Sunday 18th June

Manchester Day is an annual event in the iconic city which has taken place every year since the inaugural celebration back in 2010. Celebrating creativity and diversity, Manchester Day is about all things Mancunian and a chance for groups in the community to express what makes Manchester special to them.

Colour, movement, and sound

Communities, artists, and businesses collaborate to make something truly amazing which brings together families, residents and visitors in the city centre as it bursts into an awe-inspiring array of colour, movement, and sound. Manchester Day was enjoyed by over 60,000 people in 2016 and the amazing displays were coordinated by over 2,000 participants – including charities, community groups, and local businesses.

Manchester Day is a city-wide party which features a 1-mile parade through the centre. The theme for 2017 is Abracadabra! Hailing all things magic, the event has attracted over 2,000 performers who are making the final touches to a magical journey filled with wonder. You will be enchanted by amazing illusions and inspired inventions. Make sure you get into the city centre early to find your spot and absorb the thrilling atmosphere.

This year is shaping up to the best Manchester Day ever! The city centre squares will be brimming with performers, decorations and an array of food and drink between 12 noon & 6 pm. Leave soggy sandwiches behind and sample the delights prepared by our amazing street food traders who will be set up in squares across the city centre.
